BILANGAN 1
Para ahli SGM dan para pembaca yang budiman. Pada tahun ini kita akan meraikan ulangtahun SGM yang ke 90. SGM bakal menerbitkan sebuah buku khas untuk kita sama-sama menatap kembali sejarah perjuangan SGM dari mula hingga kini. SGM telah memainkan peranan yang amat penting bagi menyokong kesejahteraan ekonomi para guru Melayu di negara ini sejak tertubuhnya SGM pada tahun 1931.
Pada ketika ini kita sedang bergelut dengan pandemik dengan harapan kita akan menang dengan secepat mungkin. Namun kita bersedia untuk meneruskan kehidupan dalam norma baharu berserta endemik yang akan menjadi sesuatu yang lazim dalam hidup kita. SGM juga terpaksa membuat beberapa penyesuaian dalam operasi pertubuhan disebabkan Covid-19.
Dalam memastikan kita terus bergerak ke hadapan, SGM telah membawa beberapa pembaharuan agar kita kekal relevan dan bermanfaat kepada semua ahli. Antara pembaharuan itu adalah (i) mendapatkan nasihat pakar agama untuk memastikan aktiviti kewangan SGM menurut Shariah dan (ii) segala urusan keahlian, kewangan dan pentadbiran dapat dilaksanakan secara dalam talian tanpa keperluan menghadirkan diri di pejabat SGM.
Semoga SGM terus maju jaya dan bermanfaat kepada para ahli, masyarakat dan negara.
